Какой MacBook Air выбрать?

Мы уже публиковали статью, где сравнивались MacBook Air и MacBook Pro. Если вы решили, что элегантный MacBook Air стоит в планах приобретения, то теперь надо определиться какой MacBook Air лучше подходит – меньший 11-дюймовый или больший 13-дюймовый собрат? Кроме того, какую конфигурацию той или иной модели выбрать.

11-дюймовый MacBook Air это самый недорогой ноутбук от Apple, так сказать отправная точка, с ценой 1.000 $ (ну, без 1$). За эти деньги вы получите ноутбук, оснащенный 11,6-дюймовым дисплеем (по диагонали) с 1366х768 пикселями. Он имеет 4Гб оперативной памяти и 128Гб флэш-памяти. Доплатив 200$, вы получите модель с памятью 256ГБ.

Базовый 13-дюмовый MacBook Air обойдется вам всего на 100 $ дороже. Там, те же 4Гб оперативной памяти и 128Гб флэш-памяти. 13,3-дюймовый дисплей имеет 1440х900 пикселей. Так же, доплатив 200 $, вы можете увеличить память до 256 Гб.

С закрытой крышкой, высота MacBook Air -11 чуть более сантиметра. Самая тонкая часть передняя – 0,25 см, задняя часть – высотой всего 1,14 см. Размеры MacBook Air -13 от 0,4 см до 1,94 см. Ширина 11-дюймовой модели 28,5 см, 13-дюймовой – 32,5 см. Вес: 1 кг и 1,3 кг, соответственно.

Оба ноутбука оснащены стереодинамиками, поддерживают 802.11ас Wi-Fi  и Bluetooth 4.0. Клавиатура всех моделей имеет подсветку, освещенность которой автоматически настраивается благодаря установленным датчикам. Заманчиво, что клавиатура  11-дюймовой и 13-дюймовой модели имеет одинаковый размер. На всех установлены OS X 10.9 Mavericks и приложения iWork’13, iLife’13.

MacBook Air в стандартной комплектации стоит от 999 $ до 1299 $ и по цене уже сравнивается с базовой 13-дюймовой моделью MacBook Pro с Retina-дисплеем (и даже, на 100 $ дороже 13-дюймового MacBook Pro с обычным дисплеем). Если вы потратите 1850$, заказав максимальную комплектацию, вы получите самую навороченную модель MacBook Air.

Давайте начнем сравнивать модели

Максимальная мобильность или больший экран

Насколько принципиальна разница в  2 дюйма?

11-дюймовый MacBook Air представляет из себя некоего гадкого утенка в компании Apple, это единственный ноутбук, выпускаемый с соотношением сторон экрана 16:9. Все остальные ноутбуки имеют соотношение экрана 16:10.

Такой подход в дизайне делает его, несмотря на крошечный размер, более кинематографическим. Этот форм-фактор вы увидите на плоских HD TV. Такие же соотношения сторон используются в кино. Получается, что вы больше видите ширины картинки, чем высоты. 11-дюймовый  MacBook Air показывает шире и короче, чем его 13-дюймовый брат.

Плотность в 135 пикселей на дюйм, даже выше, чем в 13-дюймовой модели (где 128 пикселей), но эта разница не огромна.

Некоторые пользователи любят широкий экран, другие ненавидят его, утверждая, что экран слишком узок. Это очень субъективное мнение, поэтому, мой совет, посмотрите в работе, что для вас лучше.

Разрешение 13-дюймового MacBook Air 1440х900. При одинаковых размерах, у него даже более высокое разрешение, чем у MacBook Pro без Retina-дисплея. Разрешение больше, но это не Retina – это очень важное различие – ни в одной модели MacBook Air нет Retina-дисплея. Как долго можно пользоваться MacBook Air без подзарядки?

Размер экрана не единственная принципиальная разница между 11-дюймовым и 13-дюймовом MacBook Air. Больший размер корпуса позволяет поставить батарею большей емкости. Модели имеют аккумуляторы 38 Вт-ч и 54 Вт-ч, соответственно.

Обе модели MacBook Air показывают выдающееся время работы, отчасти благодаря процессору Haswell, который более энергоэффективный, чем предыдущие процессоры. Apple заявила, что время работы 11-дюймового MacBook Air может доходить до 9 часов без подзарядки, а 13-дюмового до 12 часов. Так что, если вы весь день проводите вдали от источников питания, 13-ти дюймовая модель будет для вас лучшим выбором.

Что вы можете присоединить к MacBook Air?

И 11-дюймовый, и 13-дюймовый MacBook Air оборудованы встроенной по центру, над экраном, камерой 720р. У них имеется 1/8 дюймовый разъем для наушников, два микрофона (для лучшей записи голоса, или разговору по Skype или FaceTime), два порта USB 3.0 (по одному с каждой стороны) и один порт  Thunderbolt (на правой стороне). Thunderbolt, обычный, а не Thunderbolt 2.

Возможности подключения внешних устройств различаются только одним. В 13-дюймовом MacBook Air на правой стороне есть слот для SDXC-карты. Если вы уже используете или планируете купить цифровую камеру, которая записывает на SD-карту, а также намереваетесь использовать MacBook Air для редактирования фото и видео, снятое такой камерой, 13-дюймовый MacBook Air будет выбором, обеспечивающем удобство.

Больше оперативной памяти

Нужно ли?

4 Гб RAM является стандартным объемом во всей линейке MacBook Air. Этого вполне достаточно для запуска Mavericks, для интернет-приложений  и, вообще, всех приложений, для которых требуется нормальная производительность. Ну, а если вы действительно интенсивно используете оперативную память:  работаете с редакторами медиафайлов, одновременно запускаете множество приложений и т.п., стоит задуматься о 8 Гб памяти. Стоит задуматься о покупке MacBook Air с таким объемом оперативки, если вы думаете о будущем. Apple выпускает свои устройства с заделом на планируемые изменения. Так, например, MacBook Air 2010 года с 2 Гб, уже достаточно «тормознуто» работает с Mavericks.

Стоит сказать, что вы сразу должны определиться какой объем оперативной памяти вам необходим. Добавить объема, припаяв дополнительную память к материнской плате не получится.

Больше Флэш-памяти

Нужно ли?

Это, наверное, самый сложный вопрос при покупке MacBook Air. Если вы переходите с другой машины, скорее всего, у вас есть приложения и файлы которые необходимо перенести.

По сравнению с 512 Гб на жестких дисках, которые в последнее время применяются в ноутбуках, 128 Гб флэш-памяти достаточно скудное пространство. Скорее всего, придется всё резко урезать. Редко используемые файлы можно заархивировать, и перенести их на внешний диск, сервер или даже в облачное хранилище. Также может быть не плохой идеей воспользоваться iCloud.

Решив, как вы все это будете использовать, рассматриваем варианты

256 Гб конфигурация добавит к цене базовой модели 200 $ (получаем, 1199 $ и 1299 $, соответственно). Если и этого мало, то прибавляем к полученной цене ещё 300 $, и получаем 512 Гб за 1499 $ и 1599 $, соответственно за 11-дюймовый и 13-дюймовый  MacBook Air.

По-любому, увеличение флэш-памяти достаточно дорогое удовольствие. Существуют компании, такие как Other World Computing, специализирующиеся на SSD-накопителях для MacBook Air старшего модельного года. Обращаем ваше внимание, что для новейших MacBook Air у них еще нет SSD-накопителей. Это связано с использованием нового процессора Haswell и изменением всей системы работы флэш-накопителя.

Процессор i7

Нужен ли?

На бумаге, MacBook Air выглядит тормознутым, по сравнению с MacBook Pro или некоторыми PC-ноутбуками. Но это обманчивый взгляд. Флэш-хранение вносит существенную разницу в эффективность работы. Также помогает то, что одна и та же компания (Apple), производит компьютер и разрабатывает операционную систему, которая работает на этом компьютере. Операционная система тщательно оптимизирована, чтобы максимально эффективно использовать возможности процессора.

Стандартный 1.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor оптимизирован под работу MacBook Air. Но если вы готовы раскошелиться на 150 $, то получите двухъядерный процессор Intel Core i7. Кроме разницы в тактовой частоте на 30 процентов, есть и другие различия внутри i7. Он имеет дополнительный мегабайт кэш-памяти — 4 Мб вместо, 3 МВ на i5. В кэш-памяти сохраняют часто используемые данные. Больше кэша, означает, что больше данных можно хранить на чипе, а значит i7 работает быстрее.

Технология ускорения «Turbo Boost» i5 и i7, автоматически включает быстрейшую работу ядер. Этот режим Turbo практически удваивает частоту – с 2,6 ГГц на i5, до 3,3 ГГц на i7.

Оба процессора используют интегрированную графику — HD Graphics Intel 5000, а процессор i7 управляет графикой быстрее, чем i5. Если вы хотите добиться максимальной производительности, то стоит потратить 150 $ на процессор i7. А в принципе, это совершенно не обязательно — стандартного процессора более чем достаточно для повседневного пользования.

Кому покупать 11-дюймовый MacBook Air

Если вес и размер главные критерии для выбора ноутбука, 11-дюймовый MacBook Air это ваша машина. Он чуть больше чем iPad Air (хотя по весу более чем в два раза тяжелее), но это полностью функциональный компьютер Мас, который может делать всё, что вам угодно. 11-дюймовый MacBook Air будет потрясающим компьютером для детей в школах и студентов, которым необходимо легкое и гибкое устройство.

Есть несколько компромиссов с которыми вы соглашаетесь – меньший (порядком на 20%) дисплей и отсутствие слота SD-карты. Если это не принципиально при эксплуатации, то легкий, маленький 11-дюймовый MacBook Air станет идеальным мобильным ноутбуком.

Кому покупать 13-дюймовый MacBook Air

13-дюймовая модель в базовой комплектации дороже на 100 $. Зато у неё больший экран, наилучшее время автономной работы, имеется слот для SD-карты. До октябрьского обновления MacBook Pro, он был практически идеальным сочетанием легкости, производительности и цены. После выхода MacBook Pro с Retina-дисплеем, и объявлением Apple новых цен, разница в 200 $ отделяет базовый 13-дюймовый MacBook Air и 13-дюймовый MacBook Pro с Retina-дисплеем. Зато потратив эти 200  $, вы получите процессор, который значительно быстрее,  лучшую графическую производительность, намного лучший экран, больше оперативной памяти и памяти для хранения данных (до 16 ГБ оперативной памяти и 1 ТБ хранения флэш). Благодаря двум портам Thunderbolt 2 и порту HDMI, значительно возрастут возможности подключения внешних устройств. MacBook Pro с Retina-дисплеем тяжелее примерно на 200 гр.

Вывод: Если вы не готовы или не способны платить за MacBook Pro с Retina-дисплеем, или, если вы хотите, иметь меньший вес, более длительную автономную работу и не заморачиваться сравнением двух машин, MacBook Air является изумительным, легким ноутбуком.
