  • One thing I really like about the headset is the headband; it's more robust than it looks, springing back into place after we bend it up so that the headband is nearly flat. Creative did this by using steel underneath the padding instead of plastic. While doing this with other headsets often makes me cringe, the Sound BlasterX H5 happily takes the bending in stride.

  • The Sound BlasterX H5 isn't the loudest headset out there but it's plenty loud enough in our opinion, especially given how well it attenuates external sounds, and it also doesn't distort a maximum volume like so many cheaper models. Music is handled very well with bass notes that are nice and warm but not overpowering.

  • The Sound BlasterX H5 is an excellent analog headset. It has the look and feel of quality in every aspect while managing to have a great sound as well. Every detail is accounted for from how long the cable is, to the quality of the case so you can easily pack it up and take it places. The only minor quibble I could come up with was a slight lack of crisp in certain high-pitched action sounds, but this is extremely minor indeed considering how great the music experience is. From just a quality and performance standpoint, this unit is a slam dunk.

  • The Sound BlasterX H5 Headset is quite amazing. The complete over-the-ear design is extremely comfortable, I was able to wear them for 5 hours of gaming with zero complaints. The sound was so good I was opting to play with them on even when noise wasn’t an issue.

  • As far as music and moves goes. Again, the H5 impresses. The headset has a nice chunky sound when needed (for example the rock genre) but detail as required. Movie vocals are crystal clear (again benefiting from that low end clarity we noted) and there is plenty of power to explosions and the like. This continues into the gaming environment where the H5 excels.

Вступление

Многим пользователям компания Creative известна благодаря своей линейке звуковых карт Sound Blaster, завоевавших большую популярность во всем мире. И небезосновательно: данные модели получились сбалансированными, обеспечив достойное звучание и хорошую функциональность. А их конкурентоспособность с решениями прочих брендов позволила производителю прочно занять место под солнцем. Но времена меняются, и разработчики не собираются останавливаться на достигнутом.

С недавних пор помимо традиционных версий Sound Blaster, рассчитанных на широкую аудиторию пользователей, модельный ряд компании пополнили периферийные устройства. В их числе интересные и актуальные для нашего времени игровые гарнитуры, мультимедийные проигрыватели и портативная акустика.

А в сентябре этого года разработчики Creative представили новую линейку устройств Sound BlasterX, которые обеспечивают звучание эффектов в играх на уровне дорогих блокбастеров. В нее входят следующие модели:

  • Sound BlasterX H7 – флагманская игровая гарнитура с поддержкой USB-интерфейса и восьмиканального (7.1) HD Audio;
  • Sound BlasterX H5 – упрощенная версия Sound BlasterX H7 (лишена возможности подключения по USB и светодиодной подсветки);
  • Sound BlasterX h4 – упрощенная версия Sound BlasterX H5 с 40 мм излучателями;
  • Sound BlasterX P5 – миниатюрная игровая гарнитура с наушниками вставного типа.

Отметим, что на обзор к нам попала уже увидевшая свет модель Creative Sound BlasterX H5, которая отличается от флагмана линейки лишь отсутствием пары фишек.

Упаковка и комплект поставки

Модель Creative поставляется в интересной сферической упаковке с прозрачной крышкой, через которую просматривается сама гарнитура. Она красиво уложена в форме и зафиксирована двумя лентами. Помимо самого устройства внимание привлекает декоративная наклейка с названием в верхней части.

Вторая часть упаковки отведена под детальное описание Creative Sound BlasterX H5, раскрывающее все технические стороны новинки. Здесь же приводится перечень комплекта поставки и ссылка на скачивание приложения BlasterX Acoustic Engine Lite, которое открывает полный доступ к настройкам.

В специальной нише, расположенной за наушниками, прячется комплект поставки. В него входит:

  • Руководство пользователя;
  • Сертификат подлинности продукции и регистрации;
  • Силовой USB-кабель длиной 1.2 м;
  • Силовой USB-кабель со встроенным пультом длиной 1.2 м;
  • Съемный микрофон.

Внешний вид и эргономика

Версия Creative Sound BlasterX H5 своим внешним видом мало чем отличается от старшей модели BlasterX H7. Среди различий можно отметить немного переработанный пульт дистанционного управления одного из кабелей, металлический оттенок механизма крепления и отсутствие подсветки логотипа «Х». В остальном перед нами такое же качественно сделанное решение.

Тип гарнитуры — закрытый, охватывающий, в ней установлены 50-миллиметровые излучатели с неодимовыми магнитами, обеспечивающие диапазон проигрываемых частот от 20 Гц до 20 КГц. При сопротивлении 32 Ом заявлена чувствительность на уровне 118 дБ.

Все элементы дизайна выполнены в черном цвете, подвижное оголовье оснащено крепким металлическим ободком. С внутренней стороны он обит велюром с мягким наполнителем. В качестве дополняющего элемента декора разработчики вынесли проводок, соединяющий крупные амбушюры.

Качество исполнения не вызывает каких-то вопросов или замечаний, все сделано на высоком уровне.
