Доброго времени суток, уважаемые читатели. Сегодня я познакомлю Вас с очень интересным устройством, которое действительно может быть полезным. В обзоре речь пойдет о VOYO V1, небольшом компьютере, который справится с большинством повседневных задач. Что это за штука? Мини-ПК – популярные нынче компактные устройства, совмещающие в себе необходимую для работы аппаратную часть. Стоят недорого, места занимают мало, из года в год становятся все производительнее. Ну, а сейчас поближе познакомимся с VOYO V1 Mini PC.

Что ж, как и обзор любого товара, сначала взглянем на внешний вид VOYO V1 Mini PC. Устройство довольно компактное, вес не превышает 400 гр. Корпус изготовлен из тонкого металла, окрашен в темно-синий цвет (есть и другие решения). Выгляди все очень даже неплохо. Качество сборки VOYO V1 Mini PC тоже на высоком уровне. Ничего не болтается, не скрипит, отдельные части не прогибаются. Устройство выглядит и ощущается в руках монолитным блоком.

Верхнюю часть занимает лишь логотип компании, больше здесь нет ничего. Передний торец VOYO V1 Mini PC получил небольшую круглую кнопку питания, рядом с ней находится индикатор, информирующий о состоянии. Левый и правый торец остался свободным. Остальные интерфейсы VOYO V1 Mini PC для подключения устройств находятся на тыльной стороне:

  • USB 3.0 (3 штуки)
  • Порт для подключения зарядного устройства
  • Интерфейс для установки карт памяти
  • Аудиовыход 3.5 мм
  • HDMI
  • RJ45 (подключение интернет-провода)

Помимо этого, на задней части можно рассмотреть решетку, которая необходима для охлаждения VOYO V1 Mini PC. Нижняя сторона имеет 4 прорезиненных ножки, которые предотвращают скольжение устройства по столу. В обзор попадает и еще несколько отверстий для охлаждения VOYO V1 Mini PC.

Технические характеристики

Теперь пройдемся по аппаратной части Мини-ПК. В основе лежит довольно редкий, свежий 2-ядерный процессор Apllo LakeN4200, который совсем недавно выпустила компания Intel. Разработан он по 14 нм техпроцессу, показывает приемлемую для компактных устройств производительность. Чип VOYO V1 Mini PC действительно хорош и превосходит ближайших конкурентов по многим параметрам. Для работы с графикой используется чип Intel HD Graphic. Отличную многозадачность обеспечивает 4 ГБ оперативной памяти типа DDR3L. При желании планку можно заменить на 8 ГБ (подойдет любая, что используется в большинстве ноутбуках). В качестве внутреннего накопителя VOYO V1 Mini PC выступает SSD-диск на 120 ГБ, что очень даже неплохо. Однако высокой скоростью работы он похвастаться не может. В дополнение к этому установлено 32 ГБ eMMC. Короче, на недостаток памяти в VOYO V1 Mini PC грех жаловаться.

Из коробки установлена Windows 10 с пакетом обновлений. Работает очень быстро и плавно. Без проблем запускаются офисные программы. Любителям поиграть удастся даже запустить некоторые новинки, пусть и с низкими настройками графики. А вот с воспроизведением видео в 4К и вовсе проблем не возникает. Поддержка видео высоко разрешения подразумевает использование мини-ПК в качестве ТВ-приставки для телевизора. Если применять VOYO V1 Mini PC, который попал к нам на обзор, для только для работы и серфинга в Интернете, то о нехватке памяти можно не волноваться. В крайнем случае, можно подключить внешний жесткий диск (максимальный объем 2 ТБ).

Радует и набор интерфейсов VOYO V1 Mini PC. Для периферии доступно 3 порта USB версии 3.0, что обеспечит высокую скорость работы. Не стал производитель убирать и RJ45, несмотря на повсеместное распространение Wi-Fi. Да и остальные порты уж точно найдут применение.

Для полноты обзора VOYO V1 Mini PC скажу несколько слов об игровых возможностях. Конечно, надеяться на максимальные настройки в последних релизах не приходится, но с большинством старых игр устройство неплохо справляется. Следует понимать, что процессор здесь с урезанными возможностями, нет активной системы охлаждения, что омрачает картину.

Итог

VOYO V1 Mini PC, который попал на обзор, станет отличным решением для тех, кому нужен компактный компьютер с достойной «начинкой». Его можно взять в офис, подключить к монитору и, собственно, работать. Придя домой, VOYO V1 Mini PC можно превратить в ТВ-приставку и посмотреть любимый фильм в высоком разрешении. Voyo V3 is a mini PC with Atom x7, 4GB RAM, 128GB storage - Liliputing

There’s no shortage of cheap, tiny computers with Intel Atom processors these days. But Chinese device maker Voyo’s latest model is one of the first that I’ve seen to feature an Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of solid state storage, and a USB Type-C port.

That makes the Voyo V3 one of the most powerful PCs in this category… although it’s also one of the more expensive models. It sells for around $220 at Gearbest, Geekbuying, and Banggood.

Like most Intel Atom-powered mini PCs, there’s no easy way to upgrade the memory, or internal storage, which is why it’s nice to have an option that comes with more of each.

Of course, you can always add removable storage thanks to the computer’s two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, or one USB Type C port. There’s also a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 128GB.

Other features include dual-band 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and an HDMI port.

The Voyo V3 is about the size of a CD jewel case, measuring about 5.1″ x 5.1″ x 0.4″.

The computer ships with Windows 10 64-bit software, but as CNX-Software points out, Voyo has a mixed record with actually including licensed versions of Windows when it first launches a new PC. So you might want to proceed with caution.

Still, it’s interesting to see that Chinese tablet makers are starting to ship mini PCs with better specs for folks that want more than 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Intel’s Atom x7-8700 chip actually supports 8GB of memory… I wonder how long it will take for us to see a cheap mini-desktop with that much RAM.

Recensione Voyo V3 Mini PC (TV BOX)

Il Voyo V3 è un mini pc dalle caratteristiche molto interessanti, nella fascia di mini pc si piazza tra quelli con hardware più interessante, soprattutto se guardiamo il processore, un Intel Atom x7-Z8700 quad-core (2MB Cache, 1.6GHz con Intel Burst technology fino a 2.4GHz), lo stesso che monta il Microsoft Surface 3, a questo si accostano 4GB di RAM DDR3 e un SSD da 128GB. Il Voyo V3, grazie alla sua dotazione hardware, può essere usato tranquillamente come pc adibito alla navigazione internet e ad uso ufficio, utilizzabile anche con videogiochi poco impegnativi, ma la maggior parte delle persone sicuramente l’acquisterà per usarlo come tv box in quanto compatibile con i più recenti formati video 4K. Voyo è un’azienda conosciuta nel mercato cinese, in europa non molto diffusa in quanto sono pochi i negozi (online) che ne distribuiscono i prodotti.

Come già scritto, sebbene sia utilizzabile come un vero e proprio pc, le sue dimensioni e caratteristiche lo rendono ideale per l’utilizzo come tv box.

Confezione e contenuto

Il Voyo V3 viene fornito in una confezione dalle dimensioni contenute:

All’interno della confezione troviamo:

  1. il minipc Voyo V3,
  2. un cavo micro HDMI a HDMI standard,
  3. un alimentatore che si collegherà al Voyo V3 attraverso la porta usb type C,
  4. un manuale (in inglese e cinese), in cui ci sono alcune istruzioni di base sull’utilizzo di Windows 10.

Il Voyo V3 si presenta con dimensioni molto simili a una custodia per cd, per l’esattezza le misure sono 13cm x 13cm x 0,99cm, la scocca è in metallo con la parte superiore coperta da un vetro rinforzato; nel lato frontale troviamo il tasto di accensione che, a dispositivo acceso, è illuminata da un led blu, mentre nel lato destro e nel lato inferiore troviamo le varie porte:

  • 1 porta USB 2.0 (lato destro)
  • 2 porte USB 3.0
  • 1 porta mini HDMI
  • 1 porta USB type C (USB 3.1)
  • 1 slot per memorie Micro SD
  • 1 jack audio 3,5mm

La presenza di una porta USB type C fa apparire il Voyo V3 come prodotto all’avanguardia, purtroppo la porta è utilizzata per collegare l’alimentatore, rendendola di fatto inutilizzabile per altri scopi (anche se probabilmente con un HUB USB type C alimentato si dovrebbe poter risolvere il problema).

Il cavallo di battaglia del Voyo V3 è il processore a 64bit ad efficienza energetica con tecnologia a 14 nm, 4 core e SDP (Scenario Design Power) di soli 2W, un Intel Atom x7-Z8700 CPU @ 1,60GHz che, con il CPU Boost (Turbo Boost), quanto il sistema richiede più potenza di calcolo, arriva ad una frequenza di 2,4GHz. Il processore si comporta bene anche se si notano dei rallentamenti quando si lavora in multitasking con varie applicazioni.

La grafica HD Graphics (Cherry Trail) è basata sull’architettura Intel di ottava generazione, che offre il supporto a DirectX 11.2 con frequenza di clock fino a 600 MHz.

La GPU inoltre offre il supporto all’accelerazione video 4K/H.265, purtroppo la versione HDMI è la 1.4 quindi la risoluzione massima supportata è 4K @ 30Hz.

Il processore è affiancato da 4GB di RAM DDR3 1600MHz (2GB + 2GB in dual channel) prodotte dalla Hynix Semiconductor, avrebbero potuto inserire una quantità di RAM doppia, visto che il processore x7-Z8700 supporta fino a 8GB di memoria RAM. Il supporto di memorizzazione utilizzato è un FORESEE 128GB, un SSD M.2 NGFF, prodotto dalla Shenzhen Longsys Electronics e con velocità dichiarata di 514MB/s in lettura e 158MB/s in scrittura, valori non al livello dei migliori Hard Disk SSD ma comunque migliori dei modelli eMCC, inoltre l’SDD è montato su slot, quindi in caso di necessità può essere sostituito, cosa non sempre possibile su questi tipi di dispositivi.

Dai test da noi effettuati i valori reali si discostano abbastanza da quelli dichiarati, almeno per quanto riguarda la velocità in lettura. Qui di seguito elenchiamo i valori rilevati effettuando il test del FORESEE 128GB con CristalDisk (test di trasferimento di 1GB ripetuto 5 volte): Lettura sequenziale (Q= 32,T= 1) : 383.525 MB/s Scrittura sequenziale (Q= 32,T= 1) : 207.454 MB/s Lettura casuale 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 97.919 MB/s (23906.0 IOPS) Scrittura casuale 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 61.917 MB/s (15116.5 IOPS) Lettura sequenziale (T= 1) : 330.537 MB/s Scrittura sequenziale (T= 1) : 202.353 MB/s Lettura casuale 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 16.559 MB/s (4042.7 IOPS) Scrittura casuale 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 43.434 MB/s (10604.0 IOPS)

Passiamo alla nota dolente rilevata durante la nostra prova. Il Voyo V3 monta una Realtek RTL8723BS Wireless LAN 802.11n SDIO Network Adapter. La scheda supporta le modalità wireless IEEE 802.11b/g/n e, per come è pubblicizzata, anche dual band 2GHz e 5GHz. Purtroppo, con il dispositivo in nostro possesso, non viene rilevata la connessione a 5GHz e la velocità a cui si aggancia alla rete wifi è di soli 65Mbps. I driver non sono facilmente reperibili, dovrete armarvi di pazienza e cercarli su internet in quanto non viene fornito alcun supporto su cui sono memorizzati i driver, inoltre sul sito del produttore non vengono nemmeno resi disponibili per il download.

Ciò che è consigliabile fare è copiare i driver pre-installati sul sistema operativo, allo scopo esistono vari programmi (reperibili su internet) che permettono di effettuare il backup dei drivers installati su Windows 10, vi sarà molto utile soprattutto se vi ritroverete a dover reinstallare il sistema operativo.

Il Voyo V3 mette a disposizione anche la connessione Bluetooth 4.0 per collegare vari dispositivi come tastiera e mouse o smartphone, questa si è dimostrata funzionare egregiamente.

Abbiamo descritto che il processore Intel x7-Z8700 è ottimizzato per l’efficienza energetica. Tuttavia, sebbene il basso consumo energetico del processore fa si che l’emissione di calore sia contenuta, per come è strutturato il Voyo V3 (la dissipazione del calore è esclusivamente passiva, non ci sono ventole e non sono presenti “prese d’aria”, in pratica l’intera “scocca” del Voyo V3 è il dissipatore) la temperatura tende ad aumentare all’interno del dispositivo. Solitamente, quando la temperatura arriva ad una certa soglia, il processore riduce la potenza in modo da raffreddarsi, questa funzione purtroppo non è stata attivata dai produttori del Voyo V3, quindi molto probabilmente vi capiterà di ritrovarvi il sistema in freeze (“congelato”) a causa dell’eccessivo aumento della temperatura.

Per ovviare al problema è sufficiente attivare la funzione DTS dal bios. Per accedere al bios è sufficiente premere il tasto ESC o CANC quando si accende il Voyo V3.

Il bios del Voyo V3 è un UEFI 64-bit che permette di avviare anche sistemi operativi alternativi, con moltissime voci personalizzabili.

Accedendo al bios è possibile visualizzare alcuni dati dell’allestimento hardware del Voyo V3:

Qui di seguito trovate le schermate per attivare la funzione DTS presente ed evitare di incorrere in frequenti “freeze” del sistema durante il suo utilizzo:

  1. Accedere al bios premendo il tasto ESC o CANC;
  2. Andare sulla “scheda” Advanced, selezionare CPU Configuration -> CPU Thermal Configuration;
  3. Abilitare la voce DTS (cambiare da disabled a enabled).

I produttori del Voyo V3 probabilmente non hanno dedicato molto tempo alla configurazione del BIOS, certamente non si pretendeva una configurazione totale e ottimale di tutte le voci, visto che sono veramente tante, ma per lo meno una configurazione un po’ più accorta sarebbe stata gradita.

Il Voyo V3 è fornito con sistema operativo Windows 10 Home preinstallato. Su internet c’è chi dice che si è ritrovato con una versione di Windows 10 non attivata, per quanto riguarda il dispositivo in nostro possesso la copia di Windows 10 Home installata risulta regolarmente attivata.

L’unico inconveniente avuto è quello di aver trovato il sistema operativo in lingua americana (probabilmente perché abbiamo ricevuto un dispositivo per il mercato americano), tuttavia è stato sufficiente disinstallare il pacchetto della lingua americana e installare quello della lingua italiana per rendere il sistema operativo localizzato in lingua italiana.

Lo spazio iniziale utilizzato su disco, considerando solo la presenza del sistema operativo Windows 10 Home installato, è di 18,9GB.

Avrete capito che il Voyo V3 non è del tutto indicato per chi vuole un dispositivo subito pronto, alcune modifiche, seppur minime, sono d’obbligo per poter usare decentemente il dispositivo, tuttavia, una volta “sistemato”, nonostante qualche mancanza, potrete godervi un dispositivo che si fa valere senza troppo pretendere.

Hands on: Voyo VMac Mini PC review

You can’t fault Voyo for trying its best: the Chinese company is attempting to differentiate itself from the constellation of other PC makers out there, unveiling the Voyo VMac Mini PC earlier this year. The name is obviously a crystal clear reference to Apple’s popular Mac Mini.

Not that Voyo’s PC looks like Apple’s box of tricks. The VMac is smaller at 120 x 120 x 27mm and is available in metallic blue, aurora silver, ‘luxury’ gold or champagne gold colours, not just the standard silver aluminium look.

This isn’t Voyo’s first attempt to create a different mini PC, either. Last year’s Voyo V3 left a lasting impression: hardly bigger than a CD box, it packed some serious punch for the price and had only minor issues.

Online Chinese retailer, Geekbuying, sent us a sample for review and sells the VMac Mini for £181 (or $233). Note that, while this price includes delivery, it is exclusive of any taxes that may be levied by HMRC or the courier companies on behalf of the vendor. The VMac Mini has, therefore, a lot to live up to – the 1-litre chassis of the computer is entirely made of metal and acts as a heatsink to dissipate extra heat (more on that later).

There’s a Voyo logo on top with the obligatory Intel Inside sticker, four rubber feet on the bottom, with a power button on one side (plus a white status LED), and on the opposite side are all the connectors: three USB 3.0 ports, an audio socket, a mini-HDMI connector, a microSD card slot, a GbE LAN port and the power supply socket.

We’re pleasantly surprised by the choice of ports provided by the device. There’s no USB 2.0 (for a change), a microSD reader (which removes the need for a connector) and a fast Ethernet port. It’s only a shame about the proprietary PSU port.

The VMac Mini uses a 36W (12v, 3A) power supply unit, a higher than expected wattage that’s explained by the components found inside the device.

At its heart is an Intel Pentium N4200, an Apollo Lake CPU with four cores, four threads, a TDP of 6W, a base clock frequency of 1.1GHz and a burst frequency of 2.5GHz. It also has 2MB of L2 cache and integrated Intel HD Graphics 505, clocked between 200MHz and 750MHz, with 18 execution units.

Roughly speaking it’s a souped-up version of the Core M-5Y51 – the CPU found in the amazing Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro – with twice the core count but half the cache. It is worth noting that while the graphics can run 4K at 60Hz, we could only manage 4K at 29Hz on our test PC.

The VMac’s CPU is actively cooled by a fan that has a rather high variable pitch and was active for most of the duration of our hands-on review. It was distracting to say the least, and there didn’t seem to be any way of mitigating that irritating whir.

Next to the processor is a single 4GB DDR3 RAM module, which can be expanded to 8GB. Sadly, although the N4200 supports two memory channels, there’s only one DIMM slot.

What sets apart the VMac Mini from the rest of the competition, and explains the high wattage PSU, is the fact that this mini PC can take a laptop drive (2.5-inch SATA) in addition to the 128GB M.2 2280 SSD and the embedded 32GB eMMC flash storage.

Still, we don’t understand the logic of having eMMC flash storage in addition to the SSD – although it does open the way for multiple SKUs (one with flash memory only, one with SSD and flash, and the other with SSD and hard disk drive).

The device ran a licensed version of Windows 10 Home which we found to be already registered, a common practice among Chinese manufacturers and something we neither condone nor encourage. The PC logged straight into desktop mode without asking for a password.

Unfortunately we couldn’t get Wi-Fi to work at all on the VMac Mini. This is likely to be down to a defective component rather than Windows itself as Bluetooth – which is usually serviced by the same card – was unavailable as well. Expect the device to deliver 802.11n Wi-Fi.

When it came to sheer performance, we couldn’t fault Voyo’s mini PC. This is a solid device that will run almost any office or business applications without flinching thanks to a capable processor and a surprisingly nippy storage subsystem.

In terms of benchmarks, its CPU-Z single and multi-thread scores are far ahead of the Dell Latitude 12 7202 which is powered by the Intel Core M-5Y71. The Atto benchmark also returned some very good read/write numbers thanks to the M.2 SSD, even higher than the SSD inside the Asus AsusPro B9440UA laptop managed. 

Other tests we performed (Passmark, Cinebench, Novabench and CrystalDiskMark) cemented the belief that Voyo may well have struck a sweet spot with the VMac Mini.

Early verdict

We’ve got mixed feelings about this one. On the one hand, the Voyo VMac Mini will appeal to businesses looking for a reasonably well-specced workstation with oodles of local storage and an affordable price tag. 

However, the lack of Wi-Fi out of the box is frustrating, and the noisy fan is equally annoying at times. While you can add a USB Wi-Fi dongle to your device, you cannot really do anything to mitigate the boisterous cooler.

Voyo should solve these two issues in the next version of this PC to hit the jackpot. Truth be told, though, none of the existing competitors we’ve tested lately (like the Chuwi HiBox) have the quality of components found in the VMac Mini.
